Mini Laughs

Well, you know we’re surrounded by mini-people. That’s why we always look so tired and genuinely surprised to still be alive.

Any one of the many minis is enough to drain the energy reserves- top that off with a husband who’s OCD and finds it necessary to sweep and dustbust the house three dozen times a day, and we’re one sandwich short of a picnic.

But, occasionally they will do or say things that are just plain funny. This week there have been a few. Enjoy!

Last Sunday we met Coach’s sister’s family for lunch. We walked around the little town after lunch and window shopped, went in an art gallery, and finished with a candy store. I sat down on a bench outside of the general store and my niece sat down next to me.

“Whew, these heels are killing me.” she said.

She’s six.

Then AC informed me the next day that she “wasn’t feeling herself. She might need to take an aspirin and go to bed.”

It was six o’clock.

G was even more melancholy than is normal for an angst-ridden adolescent. I asked him what his deal was and he replied “I just don’t bounce back like I did when I was younger.”

He’s 13.

And possibly my favorite- today I had the remaining two stitches removed from the hind end. And I had a flu shot. But- the good news? I got the okay on resuming my evening baths. Thank you sweet Jesus.

AC was with me for the appointment. When we left she said, “Are you so excited that you can take baths again?”

Me: “Yes- you have no idea.”

AC: “You know what I’m going to do for you mother? (She uses “mother” for special emphasis.) We’ll celebrate- I’ll let you take your bath in peace, and I won’t interrupt you once to ask you a question.”

Told you…

We’re living the dream.

See y’all!

That is seriously funny-these poor kids won’t know what hit them when they are 30…trust me, I know what a shock it is!
