Because I Have…Nothing

Hey, do you want to know what I did while I had the ENTIRE weekend to myself- no kids, no husband – just me and the open road?

I painted the den for 19 hours straight, developed carpal tunnel syndrome, slept until 10:30 Sunday morning, made it out of the house to eat lunch, and came back and slept.

Does a girl know how to party or what?

Do you have any idea what 19 solid hours of taping, painting, climbing up and down ladders, squatting in corners painting behind furniture, leaning as far as gravity and physics will allow whilst standing on the very top of the ladder with a paint brush and a can of paint, and finally realizing that if you fall it will mean certain death will do to your body?

Polio sounds like a pleasing alternative.

But, it was totally worth it because as soon as the troops started to return home they all said the same thing: “It doesn’t look any different.”

It had been Driftwood Tan and now it’s Ecru.

Driftwood Tan has sage undertones while Ecru is more olive. The olive undertones make all the difference.

But that’s nothing compared to what I have going on today. Today I am designing a web site for my class and writing vocabulary tests.

So, you all go right ahead- lunch with friends, sit by the pool reading fun girly books, shop ’til you drop.

I’ll be sitting right here trying to write sentences with soporific and coterminous.

How about this: “This blog entry lacks transition and is coterminously soporific.”

See y’all!

(LOOK THEM UP…jeez.)

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one “living it up” over summer vacation. Your days sound freakishly like mine!

Being without troops is always tough…do I sleep or do I do something productive. Sounds like you did both. And mine would not have noticed a thing either. That’s okay though. YOU notice, right! 🙂

I’d rather paint a room than grade a class full of compositions any day! However, I bet grading blogs would be much shorter and, possibly, much more interesting! Not as soporific–isn’t that a Beatrix Potter, bunny-ate-a-bunch-of-lettuces term?

Hi! Popping over from SITS to visit.

This post was hilarious – love your sense of humor. Me, I would have lounged in the bed with a box of chocolates and maybe a cocktail or 3, some good old movies or maybe read some indulgent book – after I first took a very long, undisturbed, quiet and peaceful soak in a warm bubble bath, but of course!

But painting is good too. Yes, even if only you notice.

I love thunderstorms too, although they tend to make me sleepy and lazy. And used to LOVE Thirty Something too!!

Have a fantastic rest of the week.

I feel your pain I have been non stop sanding, staining and varnishing a boat for 5 months… haha 😀
    We should party together sometime.
Thank you for visiting me on my SITS day!
